We are looking for an experienced Construction Contract Manager to lead the negotiation, establishment, and administration of contracts for airport expansion projects at Budapest Airport. This role requires expertise in FIDIC contracts, as well as in-depth knowledge of European and Hungarian construction regulations.
Your tasks will be:
- Negotiate and draft construction contracts using FIDIC standards (Red, Yellow, Silver Books).
- Ensure compliance with Hungarian and European construction laws, public procurement rules, and ESG requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, and project teams to finalize contract terms.
- Act as the primary legal contact for contractors, subcontractors, and providers on construction contract-related matters.
- Monitor the performance of contractors and providers, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Manage contract variations, amendments, and change orders in line with FIDIC procedures.
- Identify and mitigate contract-related risks, including delays, cost overruns, and disputes.
- Handle dispute resolution using FIDIC mechanisms (Adjudication, Arbitration).
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including permits, licenses, safety, and environmental standards.
- Track project budgets, control costs, and oversee contractor payments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of negotiations, approvals, and contract changes.
- Prepare reports for senior management on contract progress and risks.
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure compliance with primary contract terms.
- Liaise with authorities and regulators to meet all legal and operational requirements.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing insights on contract performance and improvements.
Our requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in construction contract management or FIDIC-specific training (e.g., FIDIC Accredited Professional) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction contract management, with a strong focus on FIDIC-based contracts.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure or airport construction projects.
- Expertise in FIDIC contract conditions (Red, Yellow, Silver Books) and their application to large-scale construction projects.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with contractors, providers, legal teams, and senior management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Proficient in construction contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Sound knowledge of construction risk management and dispute resolution processes.
- High attention to detail, with a methodical and analytical approach to contract management.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex contract disputes.
- Strong knowledge of Hungarian construction law and regulations, particularly related to public infrastructure projects is an advantage.
